Who is Ellixs?
I wasn’t always a designer.
While studying Philosophy at McMaster University, I became deeply curious about the intersection of ethics and technology - How can I make technology safe and inclusive for all? How can I create something that vastly improves people’s lives while not letting them fall victim to technological dependence and addiction?
I soon abandoned my plans to become a schoolteacher and enrolled in Humber College’s UX Design Program, from which I graduated in April 2020.
My creative approach—no matter the medium—is to enhance the human life force. Life force is inherent in every human being, and it is the level of vitality one presents in one's life—the ability to simply live or exist.
Creating groundbreaking user experiences and journeys is one way I can increase everyone's vitality and spark a joie de vivre in their life.
MUSIC
I’ve been playing drums since I was 13. Music has always been a passion of mine and I wanted to start playing in bands as soon as I entered university.
Music has boosted my creative brain and I have seen it evolve to become a part of my narrative that I use to help inform my design.
MARTIAL ARTS
My dad (aka Sensei) started taking me to the dojo when I was six years old. Since then, I’ve been teaching classes to people of all age groups Aikido, a martial art rooted in self-defense. Or as my dad says, “Bone-Breaking Techniques.”
Recently began training in Mixed Martial Arts in 2022.
